Privacy
Updated November 5, 2026
Short version: Hamhop has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Inner Spark Media runs no server that receives your data. What you send goes to AllStarLink, to the nodes you connect to, and to Apple for push.
What stays on your phone
- Your callsign and your saved nodes.
- Your allstarlink.org password, in the iOS Keychain. It only goes to allstarlink.org to sign you in.
- Logins for nodes (IAX usernames and secrets, and bridge sign-ins), in the Keychain.
- A random ID made when you install, sent to AllStarLink only for their rate limits.
What leaves your phone, and where it goes
- AllStarLink (allstarlink.org): your callsign and password when you sign in, plus node searches and node stats. Their privacy policy covers what they keep.
- The node you connect to: your callsign, and your voice while you hold the talk button. Like any radio, anyone on that node and its links can hear you. Nodes may log your callsign.
- A node owner's keyup-bridge, if you pair with one: your callsign, a Push to Talk token, and whether Hamhop is on screen. That server belongs to the node owner. Inner Spark Media doesn't run it.
- Apple, for Push to Talk and notifications.
- FCC license check: a keyup-bridge looks up US callsigns on callook.info, a public mirror of FCC data.
Microphone
Hamhop only uses the microphone while you hold the talk button (or have it toggled on). Audio goes straight to the node and isn't recorded or stored by Hamhop.
This website
hamhop.app is hosted on Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics. Cloudflare may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security.
Children
Hamhop is for licensed amateur radio operators and isn't directed at children under 13.
Deleting your data
Settings > Sign out removes everything Hamhop keeps on your phone. To leave a node, ask its owner to remove you, or delete the app. For AllStarLink data, contact AllStarLink.
